Decorate a shelf with this elegant and colorful antique Majolica box. Crafted in France circa 1860, the ceramic piece sits on small feet with claws. The whimsical bombe casket is fully decorated on all four sides in realistic high relief floral and leaf motifs. The affixed elements sit on top of a washed green background that is painted with an artistic, watercolor technique. The decorative lid features a high relief rose with stem and leaves, which can be used as a handle. The beautiful, colorful, porcelain box is in excellent condition with rich hand painted colors in a feminine pale green and pink palette.
