About
Beautifully sculpted and colorful, this antique Majolica vase would be a wonderful addition to a mantel, tabletop or bookshelf. Crafted in France, circa 1870, this hand-painted piece stands on four curved feet and features a wide and scalloped neck at the pediment; each vase is decorated with ornate pink floral motifs in high relief, including blooming gardenias and green foliage. The vessel is designed to look like a tree, dressed with a branch form handle on one side. The tall pitcher is in excellent condition and the flowers and leaves have a rich color palette of pink and green on a brown and dark blue background. Markings on the bottom with number 1559 engraved for further authentication. Measures: 5″ W x 7″ D x 15.5″ H.
