This fine, bronze bust was created in Paris and depicts the face of a French politician. The figural sculpture is signed and dated on the side by French sculptor A. Delorme, 1886. The work of art also shows the foundry’s name engraved in the back: Gruet, Fondeur, Paris. This bust is in excellent condition and has a rich patinated finish. The artist, Jean-Andre Delorme (1829-1905) won the second prize of Rome in sculpture in 1857. He showed his notable work at the salon des Beaux-Arts from 1861 until his death in 1905. He also won a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1889, and was well known for his bust sculptures. 11″W x 8″D x 18″H SKU: 71-102
