19th Century French Repousse Copper and Wood Box with Tavern Scenes
Crafted in France, circa 1870, the antique copper coffer stands on wooden feet; the slant top opens up with inside storage. The large box is decorated with four repousse tavern scenes on the front and top in the manner of David Teniers, and both sides feature scenes of musketeers in uniform. The decorative trunk is in excellent condition and has the original rich patinated finish. The versatile box could be used for wood burning near a fireplace, or as storage facility for children toys. Measures: 31.75″ W x 19.25″ D x 22.5″ H.
