19th Century French Walnut and Iron Tilted Jardinière Planter with Handle
This antique indoor or outdoor planter was crafted in France, circa 1870. Rounded in shape with one thick top handle resembling an oxen yoke, the bucket features metal bindings and a forged ring attached to the top, enabling hanging. It could have been used to measure grapes or other fruits. The heavy bucket is in very excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. This versatile hanging pail could be used in a number of ways, such as a large waste basket, a planter cache pot either resting on the ground or hanging in an archway, or as a decorative accessory over kitchen cabinets. Measures: 15″ W, 17″ D, 14.5″ H.
