19th Century French Weathered Carved Stone Outdoor Garden Planter Jardinière
Place this elegant antique planter on your patio for a timeless flower display. Crafted circa 1880 and built in on single piece of stone, the large sturdy jardinière was found in Paris, France. It is inscribed across the front with “Les Sapeurs-Pompiers a Leur Camarade,” which translates to “The firefighters to their comrade.” It was possibly given as a gift. The jardiniere sits on a solid integral square base over a pedestal carved basin embellished with a flared rim at the top. The Medici form garden urn is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns its original weathered patinated finish throughout with evidence of outdoor use. Drainage hole at the base. Small chip on two corners (see images). Measures: 15″ diameter 20″ height.
