Interesting antique carved and hand-painted chandelier from Germany, circa 1870; the six-arm fixture features a carved woman holding a shield in one hand while holding a torch in the other. Wonderful detailed carving on the lady’s outfit and hat. This chandelier has new wiring and would make a wonderful statement to any wine cellar or wet bar! Excellent condition with polychrome and painted finish. A LuNsterweibchen or Leuchterweibchen (German, loosely translated: “Little Chandelier Woman”) is a chandelier consisting of antlers or iron arms arranged horizontally with a female half-figure placed at one end. (Antlers used were typically those of deer or elk). Included: A canopy, loop, and chain; each color-matched to the fixture. Measures: 30″ W x 21″ D x 24″ H. SKU: 153-369
