19th Century Italian Framed Oval Oil Painting on Board Signed P. Bedini
This antique painting titled “The lady with the mask” was created in Italy circa 1868. Set in an ornate frame with distressed antique finish, the oval oil artwork is done on board and depicts a beautiful and gracious woman wearing a veil and holding a mask in her right hand. The piece is signed and dated by the artist P. Bedini, 1868. The painting is in excellent condition with rich colors. An original appraisal from Joseph M. Kaplan from Aronoff Galleries, and dated November 4, 1977 will be delivered with the painting. Policarpo Bedini (1818-1883) was a Italian artist; born in Piove di Sacco near Padua in 1818, Bedini was a painter, water colorist and art restorer. He completed his studies at the academy of Fine Arts in Venice, and painted numerous simple yet original compositions, and was a skillful restorer of works by Old Masters. He died in 1883.
