19th Century Italian Two-Tone Marble Bust Sculpture Signed Galileo
Decorate a shelf or desk with this antique, two-tone marble bust. Created in Italy circa 1880, and signed Galileo on the back, the sculpture rests on an integral flat base; it depicts a young woman gazing to the her left. The young woman is dressed in 19th century clothing, with delicate ruffled sleeves, layered necklaces across her neck, and small barrettes in her hair. The sculpture uses two different-colored marble for interesting tonal and textural differences. The figure is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated finish. Galileo Pochini, was a 19th century artist, known for his marble figures of women. Measures: 13″ W x 6″ D x 11.25″ H.
