About
Decorate a shelf or a bookcase with this colorful antique majolica figure sculpture. Crafted in France, circa 1920, the large, intricate, sculptural piece features a young woman balancing on a swing in a courtly costume. The style and scene are reminiscent of the Rococo painting, “The Swing,” by Fragonard. The female figure is dressed in an 18th century dress and powdered wig that is similar to Marie Antoinette. The stand sits on scroll feet and is decorated with lush flowers, and the base is also embellished with floral decor. The porcelain composition is in excellent condition and has rich hand painted colors throughout.
