Mid-19th Century French Louis XVI Carved Giltwood Wall Mirror with Beveled Glass
Decorate a powder room or an entry way with this elegant antique mirror! Crafted in France circa 1860, the rectangular mirror with arched top, features an intricate cartouche at the pediment embellished with crossed torches set inside a laurel crown, and flanked with floral motifs on both sides; it is further dressed with urn shaped finials on each top corner. The frame is decorated with carved geometric motifs in high relief throughout. The wide and tall mirror is dressed with the original beveled mercury glass over the original wood backing. The mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated gold leaf finish; versatile, it could also be placed over a mantel, over a buffet in an entry, or a chest of drawers in a bedroom. New wire and hooks for easy installation. Measures: 38.5″ W x 59.5″ H.
