Early 18th Century Polished Iron Fireback with Crown and Family Coat of Arms
Decorate your fireplace with this elegant antique Regence Period fire back. Crafted circa 1720 and almost square in shape, the French ornate fireplace essential, features a family crest in very high relief, decorated with horse and star motifs and set inside a shaped medallion; it is further embellished with acanthus leaf and shell decor, and topped with a Count crown at the pediment. The large plaque is in excellent condition with a wonderful and rich patinated black and silver polished steel finish. The heavy iron fireback could also be used as a wonderful kitchen back splash behind a stove, or as a decorative wall decor. Weights 259 pounds. Measures: 31.5″ W x 27.25″ H.
