Early 20th C French Louis XV Carved Marquetry Walnut and Marble Lady Table Desk
Decorate a study or boudoir with this elegant antique lady’s desk. Crafted in France, circa 1900, the cabinet shaped as a kidney stands on carved cabriole legs ending with bronze mounts over the feet; the delicate piece features a grey marble top with a pierced brass gallery around the perimeter, over an open theater and two stacked drawers sitting over a green leather surface embellished with gilt tooling. The chest has a large across the front embellished with marquetry inlaid motifs and dressed with bronze handles. The petite secretary is decorated around the curved back with inlay and parquetry embellishments, and is further dressed with decorative bronze mounts at the shoulders. The table desk is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina. Small blemish on leather surface (see last picture) Measures: 29.5″ W x 20″ D x 38.5″ H.
