This elegant antique oak “Confiturier” (French for jelly cabinet) was crafted in Normandy, circa 1920. The provincial cabinet stands on square feet over a straight bottom plinth; it is fitted with a single door decorated with carved raised and arched panel, and embellished with a carved shell motif in the center. Each recessed corner is further decorated with vertical carved geometric pattern. The inside reveals a middle shelf for ultimate storage. The country buffet is in excellent condition with wonderful character and distress, and adorns a rich walnut patina. This sturdy cabinet would make a wonderful vanity sink in a powder room, or could be used in an entry for additional storage. Key included. Measures: 27.25″ W x 16.25″ D x 34″ H.
