Early 20th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut Two-Door Bombe Corner Cabinet
$1,500
About
This traditional, antique “Encoignure,” (French for corner cabinet) was crafted in Provence, France, circa 1920. Standing on curved feet over a scalloped apron, the entire front of the piece is bowed, making it an easy addition to any corner. The storage cabinet has two beautifully carved doors with recessed panels, and is embellished with the original iron hardware and locking mechanism; the inside reveals center shelving for ultimate storage. The bombe buffet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina; this cabinet would make a useful addition to the powder room to store everyday utilities, or in an entry way or den for additional storage. Key and lock included. Like most corner cabinets this piece is front heavy, it is advised that it be secured to the wall to ensure stability.
Measures: 28″ W x 21.5″ D x 34.5″ H.
