Early 20th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut two-Seat Bench
Crafted in Provence, France circa 1920, the antique fruitwood bench stands on six cabriole legs and escargot feet over a curved stretcher at the base; each leg is further decorated with hand carved acanthus leaf and face motifs at the shoulder. The scalloped apron is decorated with a carved pierced shell embellished with foliage motifs. The seat has been recovered with a new white fabric waiting for colorful upholstery. The elegant bench is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina. Place this versatile bench at the foot of a bed, or use it for extra seating in a den, or around a breakfast room table.
