Early 20th Century French Louis XV Walnut Two Seat Bench with Green Velvet
Crafted in Provence, France circa 1920, the antique fruitwood bench stands on six cabriole legs and escargot feet over a curved stretcher at the base; each leg is further decorated with hand carved acanthus leaf and face motifs at the shoulder. The scalloped apron is decorated with a carved pierced shell with foliage motifs. On the sides the seat has been upholstered with a green velvet fabric, and embellished with decorative brass nail heads. The elegant bench is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina. Place this versatile bench at the foot of a bed, or use it for extra seating in a den, or around a breakfast room table. Measures: 36″ W x 15″ D x 17.5″ H.
