Crafted in the Burgundy region of France circa 2000, this folding table sits on a pair of turned legs, and features an elegant, lyre shaped central base embellished with decorative turned spindles. Popular in the wine growing regions of France, these tables were used each year in all the wineries as connoisseurs tasted the new vintage. In traditional form, these wine tasting tables were covered with a plastic table cloths, and then cheese and wine were served together. This classic find would make a sophisticated, historically relevant addition to a wine cellar, or just to use as extra serving surface. The tilt top table is in excellent condition and has a rich walnut patina throughout.
