Decorate a man’s office or library with this elegant dog and bird sculpture in the manner of Jules Moigniez. Created in France circa 2010, and standing on a rectangular green marble base, the composition depicts a proud hunting setter holding a pheasant in his mouth. The large and heavy sculpture is in excellent condition, and adorns a rich patinated silvered finish. A wonderful addition for a ranch house or hunting lodge! Weight 54 pounds. Jules Moigniez (1835-1894) was a French animalier (animal) sculptor who was active during the 19th century. His output was primarily cast in bronze and he frequently exhibited his sculptures at the Paris Salon. He was best known for his bronzes depicting birds, although his skill and versatility enabled him to produce quality horse sculptures (primarily racehorses), dog sculptures and hunting scenes. His bird sculptures were among the finest ever created during his time. Measures: 23.5″ W x 10.25″ D x 17″ H.
