The still life painting features a large red lobster surrounded by grapes and a bouquet of flowers. This painting has a painterly, atmospheric haze in the background with a beautiful impressionistic, textured quality to the elements in the foreground. The colorful art work is signed in the top right corner by Danish artist Carl H Fischer. The piece is in excellent condition with vivid colors throughout.
Carl Holger Fischer (1887-1955) was a Danish visual artist who was born in 1885. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction, including ‘Poppies, daisies and wild flowers in a vase’ sold at Christie’s South Kensington ‘British and Continental Pictures’ in 2002. The artist died in 1955.
