Late 18th Century French Louis XV Carved Burl Walnut Tall Case Clock from Lyon
Place this elegant, antique grand father clock in your entry or your den. Crafted in Lyon, France, circa 1780, the fruitwood tall case clock with marquetry decor, features beautiful carved lines including a bonnet top, a violin shape body style and scroll feet under a scalloped apron at the base. The embossed brass face features the “return of Egypt” with Joseph and Mary holding baby Jesus on a donkey. The clock mechanism signed Gironnet a Coligny, has been cleaned up and checked up, and is in very good working order with new strings, two weights, the original brass pendulum, and the winding key.
