Mid-18th Century French Carved Black Red and Grey Marble Shell Stoup
This antique dish shaped as a shell was carved in France, circa 1760. Originally at the entrance door of a private chapel, this stoup was inserted in the wall and used to hold the Holy Water. The black red, and grey marble church recipient is in excellent condition and has a rich, aged patinated finish. Re-purpose this small antique piece to be a soap holder in a powder room, a shallow plant vase or use it as a vide-poche to catch loose change. Measures: 10″ W x 7.5″ D x 3.5″ H.
