Mid-18th Century French Louis XIV Polished Wrought Iron Marble Top Console Table
Forged in France circa 1750, the antique console table base stands on straight feet connected with a bottom stretcher. Long and narrow, the Louis XIV style table with Greek motifs at the top, features intricate scrolled decor, leaf motif, and embellished with double crosses piercing a central round medallion with initials. The tall rectangular table is dressed with a thick variegated “Nero Marquina” black marble top with white veins, finished with Dupont edge on three sides. The heavy table base is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich polished black and silver steel finish. Versatile, the elegant Parisian console would add the ideal amount of surface space to any hallway, entryway or on a outside patio underneath a large big screen TV. Over 200 pounds.
