This antique coal scuttle was created in France, circa 1870. Built of brass with decorative floral bronze mounts and a hand painted blue and white porcelain handle, the oblong bucket stands on a round base. The versatile decorative box is in excellent condition with a rich patinated gilt finish; it could be use next to a fireplace to store wood burning logs, as used a fancy waste basket, or a planter jardinière. Measures: 13.5″W x 12″D x 13″H.
