Mid-19th Century French Copper Jelly and Jam Boiling Bowl with Brass Handles
This large, antique, copper marmalade bowl was crafted in Normandy, France, circa 1860. The decorative, round “Bassine a Confiture” (jelly bowl), features two brass handles on the sides, which are attached with rivets. The simple, traditional kitchen accessory is in excellent condition with a rich polished finish throughout and would bring an authentic French countryside touch to your home. Both the inside and outside of the bowl have a hammered surface. The piece could be used for boiling jam in the kitchen, but could also be used as a planter or waste basket elsewhere in the house.
