Mid-19th Century French Louis Philippe Burl Walnut Commode with Black Marble Top
This elegant, antique fruitwood chest of drawers was crafted in France, circa 1860. The traditional commode with simple lines stands on four square feet over a thick and raised base plinth; the cabinet features five long drawers across the front including one invisible drawer under the marble, and a secret one at the bottom with lock mechanism. The chest is in excellent condition, with the original black marble, and has a rich walnut patina throughout. The Louis Philippe burl cabinet would make a wonderful powder room vanity with the addition of a sink, or could simply be used in a bedroom for clothing storage. Four keys included and of the locks work perfectly. Measures: 51″ W x 23.25″ D x 37.5″ H.
