Mid-19th Century French Louis Philippe Marble Top Burl Walnut Five-Drawer Chest
$5,300
About
This elegant, antique fruitwood chest of drawers was crafted in France, circa 1870. The traditional commode with simple lines stands on square feet over a thick and raised base plinth; the cabinet features five long drawers across the front including one invisible drawer under the marble with lock mechanism, and a secret drawer at the bottom. The three middle drawers are dressed with the original bronze knobs and matching escutcheons. The chest is dressed with the original black marble. The Louis Philippe cabinet is in excellent condition, and adorns a rich walnut patina throughout. The burl commode could be used in a bedroom for clothing storage, or could make a wonderful powder room vanity with the addition of a sink. One key for top drawer included. Measures: 49″ W x 21.75″ D x 37.75″ H.
