Mid-19th Century, French, Louis XV Carved Walnut Stools from Lyon, Set of Two
$2,400
About
These elegant “almost a pair” antique stools were crafted in Lyon, France circa 1860. Standing on cabriole legs ending decorated with carved leaf decor at the shoulder, and ending with escargot feet, each large stool features a bombe scalloped apron embellished with hand carve shell and foliage motifs. Each seat is upholstered with a beige and red fabric dressed with decorative nail heads. The stools are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a rich walnut patina. Use them for extra seating in a den or living room. Slight carving differences on the frame between the two. In need of new fabric. Measure: 25″ W x 18″ D x 18″ H.
