Mid-19th Century French Louis XV Walnut Marquetry Bedside Cabinet Confiturier
Crafted in Paris, France circa 1860, the antique cabinet stands on cabriole legs over a scalloped apron. The rectangular shaped top sits over a single bombe door decorated with contrasting banded parquetry motifs, and further embellished with a center foliate inlaid decor; the door is further dressed with a bronze knob. The cabinet opens to interior shelving for additional storage. The elegant “Confiturier” ( jelly cabinet) is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Versatile and narrow, the cabinet could be used anywhere from a living room, as a nightstand in a bedroom, or in a powder room to store utility products. Measures: 21″ W x 15″ D x 33″ H.
