About
Place this elegant antique prayer chair in your bedroom for daily devotions or your living room or office for a beautiful religious accent. Crafted in France, circa 1870, the traditional kneeler stands on carved feet over a scalloped apron. The wide top, with hand woven floral and family crest designs, and the large cushioned knee seat with a large handwoven family insignia and floral decor, are upholstered with the original needlepoint tapestry, and dressed with decorative brass nail heads. The tall religious “Prie-Dieu” (French for Praying God) is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorned with a rich walnut patina and a mustard, red, tan, and blue color palette. Measures: 18″ W x 19.75″ D x 34″ H.
