Mid-20th Century French Bentwood Coat Stand or Hat Rack Thonet Style
$1,350
About
Bring a retro, yet practical touch to any entry or dressing area with this elegant, carved “Perroquet” coat stand. The useful, traditional stand was crafted in France, circa 1950 in the style of German-Austrian cabinet maker, Michael Thonet (1796-1871). The hall tree features a swivel top with two rows of eight hooks each, so it could be used as a dual hat and coat rack; it is further embellished with a carved decorative finial at the pediment. The stand sits on four legs with a wide, sturdy base for ultimate stability, and has a ring to hold umbrellas upright. The hall tree is in excellent condition and has a rich walnut patina throughout. Measures: 23″ diameter 80″ height.
