This elegant and colorful vintage fishbowl standing on a carved fruitwood base was created in China, circa 1970. Round in shape, this large exotic porcelain planter features bird and butterfly motifs embellished with floral decor throughout. The ceramic vase is painted on the inside as well with a traditional koi fish illustration motif. The piece separates into a bowl and stand, with the bowl standing at 12 inches high by itself. There is a beautiful signature on the bottom in elegant Chinese characters that authenticates its Oriental origin. Overall, this beautiful Asian piece is in excellent condition with wonderful colors in the pale green, pink, blue and red palette. This bowl is a must-have for a traditional style home, or for the chinoiserie collector. Measures: 15.5″ diameter, 21″ height (total height including base).
