This elegant antique statue of the Mother and Child, was carved in Southern France, circa 1960. The large alluring sculpture in high relief, features Madonna holding her Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is holding what looks to be a bowl in his left hand while wrapping his right arm around his mother. The tall religious figure has wonderful carving details throughout the dress, hair and facial expressions. The religious statue is in excellent condition with a rich fruitwood patina. Measures: 6″W x 4.5″D x 16″H.
