Mid-Century French Louis XV Carved Beech Wood and Cane Six-Leg Settee Bench

This elegant, antique bench was carved in France circa 1960. The settee stands on six cabriole legs ending with escargot feet and dressed with a double X-bottom stretcher; it features a carved serpentine scalloped apron decorated with floral and acanthus leaf motifs. The arched back is also embellished with hand-carved foliage decor. On both ends the piece has arms which are gracefully decorated. The bench is upholstered with back and cane seat of lighter color, contrasting with the darker frame. The banquette is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina and detailed carvings throughout. Measures: 51″ W x 25″ D x 34.25″ H.
