Mid-Century French Louis XV Marble Top Walnut Marquetry Bombe Chest of Drawers
Crafted in France circa 1980, the vintage commode stands on cabriole legs, over a scalloped apron decorated with a center bronze shell and leaf motif mount. The petite fruit wood chest features two bombe drawers across the front embellished with inlaid floral motifs, and dressed with the original intricate bronze handles and matching escutcheons. Both serpentine sides also with marquetry and cornucopia decor, are embellished with ormolu mounts in each corner. The surface is dressed with the original shaped variegated beige and red marble top (restored). The elegant Louis XV cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a rich walnut patinated French polish finish. Versatile, this cabinet could also be used as a nightstand bedside table. Measures: 25.5″ W x 14″ D x 30″ H.
