Midcentury English Carved Chestnut Eight Gate-Leg Drop-Leaf Oval Table
Crafted in England from solid chestnut, circa 1950, the large fruitwood dining room table stands on sturdy turned legs embellished with a decorative stretcher at the bottom. The table has four extra legs that unfold, and two large drop leaves come up and make an elegant oval top when opened. The large dining room table is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina and would easily sit eight to ten people. The versatile and functional table could also be used as a half circle demilune table against a wall, or could be place behind a sofa as a console table. Measures: 83.5″ W x 23.5″ D x 31″ H closed 83.5″ W x 73″ W opened.
