This beautiful, feminine decorative porcelain birdcage would make a lovely addition to a woman’s office or study. Crafted in Rouen, Normandy circa 1950, and built of faience, the cage stands on scroll feet over a scalloped apron decorated with foliage motifs. The pierced and slant roof dressed with a brass hook at the pediment, sits on a four-side rectangular body embellished with metal bars all around. The inside features a porcelain, blue and yellow parakeet bird sitting on an oak branch. The cage is decorated with hand painted floral and leaf motifs throughout in an orange, blue, and green palette on white background. The original French cage is in excellent condition and is truly unique. Place it on a shelf or hang it in a kitchen! Marking on the bottom for further authentication. Measures: 10.5″ W x 8.5″ D x 17″ H.
