Pair of 19th Century Belgium Gilt Bronze-Mounted Variegated Onyx Covered Urns

Decorate a mantel or buffet with this important pair of antique covered urns. Crafted in Belgium circa 1870, each tall vessel stands on triangular shape marble bases ending with delicate round bronze feet. Each Belgian vase is dressed with a dome shaped lid and embellished with a decorative bronze cone finial at the pediment over bronze neck, and three side handles with ram figures and swag decor. Each vase is further supported with elegant bronze legs connecting the urn to the base, and ending with hoof feet. The large cassolettes are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns rich colors in the red, orange and maroon palette, with patinated gilt bronze finish. Place these large vases on a console for undeniable old-world opulence and elegance, or convert them into exquisite table lamps. Signed “BELGIUM” on the bottom. Each weights 54 pounds. Measures: 10.5″ W x 8.5″ D x 27″ H.
