Both sculptures boast intricate sponge painted details on the front and back, exhibiting the artistry of the period. The spaniels rest on an ornate gilded scroll base, adorned with vibrant yellow, purple, and pink flower motifs. The tops of the bases feature a ring of green encircling the dogs, offering a subtle yet pleasing contrast.
