Pair of 19th Century French Barbotine Cachepots with Hand Painted Flowers
Decorate a console or a buffet with these unusual, antique Majolica vases. Crafted in France circa 1880, each sculptural porcelain cachepot features an asymmetrical, scalloped edge at the pediment. The artful ceramic is heavily decorated with colorful, high relief flowers and green leaves, and embellished with lion face medallions on both sides. The ceramic jardinières are in excellent condition with a beautiful sculptural quality. The hand painted palette of pastel green, blue and pink has been beautifully maintained, and would make an eye-catching addition to a mantel (fireplace).
