Pair of 19th Century French Carved Green Marble and Gilt Bronze Cassolettes

Crafted in France, circa 1870, these antique urns are carved of marble and stand on square bases with cut corners decorated with beads. Each vessel with a bronze mount around the neck, features a detachable dome shaped lid embellished with a bronze cone finial at the pediment. The body with acanthus leaf motifs at the base, is decorated with side handles and a foliage ring mount around the perimeter. The large, carved cassolettes with variegated green and grey marble colors, are in excellent condition with a rich patinated gilt bronze finish. Place these elegant cassolettes on a mantel or a console for undeniable Parisian, French elegance. The urns could also be converted into beautiful table lamps.
