Pair of 19th Century French Carved Red Marble and Gilt Bronze Cassolettes Urns
Crafted in France, circa 1870, these elegant antique urns are hand carved from variegated marble stone and are outfitted with bronze decorations. Standing on a square base with cut corners over bronze feet with foliage motifs, each urn features long gargoyle handle mounts on the sides; the top is embellished with a decorative bronze cone finial. The large vessels are in excellent condition with a rich patinated gilt finish over the rouge and white marble. Decorate a mantel or a console with this large, mythological pair of cassolettes.
