Pair of 19th Century French Coat of Arms on Maroon Velvet in Walnut Frame
Crafted in France circa 1880 and set on a deep purple velvet background fabric, the elegant framed shields features two separate coats of arms. The larger of the two depicts an elegant shield stitched with shiny gilt thread, surrounded by swirling vines, flowers and a crown at the apex. The smaller wall decor is dressed with the same background, and depicts double eagles supporting a crown set with green and red stones and a shield at the center. The frame is hand carved in solid fruitwood, the detailed blason is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina; decorate a man’s office or study with this fine set of colorful antique crests!
