Pair of 19th Century French Hand Painted Faience Vases Signed HR Quimper
Decorate a mantel or table with this colorful pair of antique faience vases. Crafted in Brittany, France, circa 1890, both hand painted vases with side handles show Britons people dressed in traditional outfits on one side, and the Brittany coat of arms and floral motifs on the other. The ceramic vases are embellished with blue and white rims on top and base. Both pieces are signed on the bottom “HR Quimper” (Henriot). The vases are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use with rich colors, and would serve as lovely flower vases. Founded in Quimper in 1690, the HB-Henriot Manufacture has always innovated and worked with artists since this date. Nowadays, HB-Henriot is well-known all-over the world for its know-how. The brand is known for the “Quimper paint touch,” the tradition of producing and hand-painting every piece in-house, and the creation of its own porcelain molds. The HR underlined mark of Camille Moreau who worked at the Henriot pottery from 1891-1895. Dimensions: 7.5″ diameter 13″ height.
