Pair of 19th Century French Hand Painted Porcelain and Bronze Sevres Vases
Decorate a mantel or a console with this elegant pair of porcelain and bronze urns. Created near Paris, France, circa 1890, each impressive, decorative vase sits on a square bronze base, and has a cone shaped finial on the lid. The urns are decorated with hand painted medallions, gilt scrolling borders and have a signature Sevres royal blue background. One side of the vase depicts a detailed romantic courting scene, while the other side shows a landscape scene with a castle, water mill and trees. Both stately, colorful vessels are further embellished with Rococo style ormolu bronze handles and decorative mounts of faces and acanthus leaves. The pieces are signed inside the lid for further authentication. The decorative vases are in excellent condition and have rich patinated colors with gold leaf accents.
