Pair of 19th Century French Louis XIII Carved Walnut Barley Twist Armchairs
These elegant antique fruitwood armchairs were created in the Perigord region of France, circa 1870. Each chair has a rectangular back, carved barley twist legs with matching stretcher and armrests decorated with charming, hand carved female figures. The seat and back are upholstered with a vintage beige velvet with geometric motifs, and further embellished with brass nail heads. These Baroque, Louis XIII style armchairs are in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina, and could be used in a den, study or library for comfortable, attractive seating.
