Pair of 19th Century French Louis XIII Carved Walnut Barley Twist Armchairs
These elegant antique fruitwood armchairs were created in the Périgord region of France, circa 1880. Each chair stands on carved barley twist legs with double stretcher; the armrests are decorated with charming, hand carved female figures. The rectangular seat and back are upholstered with a vintage floral fabric, and embellished with iron nail heads. These Baroque, Louis XIII style armchairs are in excellent condition with a rich light walnut patina, and could be used in a den, study or library for additional comfortable, attractive seating.
