Pair of 19th Century French Louis XIII Walnut Barley Twist Armchairs with Velvet
This elegant pair of antique fruit wood armchairs were created in the Perigord region of France, circa 1880. Each chair has a rectangular back, carved barley twist legs and a matching stretcher. Each armrest is embellished by hand-carved dog head figures, which adds the perfect amount of whimsy and detail. The seat and back are upholstered with a vintage red velvet fabric with floral motifs, and are further embellished with decorative brass nail heads. These armchairs are in excellent condition and have a rich walnut patina throughout. These armchairs could be used in a den, study or library for comfortable, attractive seating.
