Pair of 19th Century French Louis XVI Carved Walnut Fauteuils with Silk Fabric
Complete your formal living room or den with this elegant pair of antique armchairs. Created in France, circa 1890, the large, Classic bergeres stand on carved tapered and fluted legs embellished with central floral medallions at the shoulder, over a bombe apron. Each important chair features a wide and rounded back decorated with vase and garland motifs at the pediment, and a deep and comfortable seat over open armrests decorated with acanthus leaf motifs. The traditional armchairs are upholstered with a red floral silk fabric. The colorful fauteuils are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich walnut patina complemented with a classy upholstery.
