Pair of Early 20th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut and Cane Armchairs
Decorate a study or office with this elegant pair of antique armchairs. Crafted in Provence, France, circa 1920, each chair stands on cabriole legs decorated with leaf motifs at the shoulders, and ending with scroll feet over a decorative X stretcher. The chair features an arched and scalloped back embellished with shell and foliage decor, an further dressed with carved open armrests decorated with carved acanthus leaves. Both comfortable seat and back is upholstered with traditional cane, over a bombe scalloped apron embellished with foliage decor. The Louis XV style desk armchairs are in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina throughout. Measures: 22″ W x 18″ D x 39″ H.
